Giant-Proof

Saturday, September 19, 2026 at 7:30 pm

Ford Hall, Ithaca College

Pre-concert Chat at 6:30 pm

Some of the most searching music is of the diminutive kind. Tonight's program follows one such thread: Bach's intimate concerto for nine strings and continuo, Ravel’s orchestral arrangement of his piano hommage, Christina Courtin, who’s giant-proof, and our dear Schubert, another songwriter, who shows that our need for grand finales may be well overstated.

Christina Courtin, Violin and Voice

  • M. RAVEL : Le tombeau de Couperin

  • CHRISTINA COURTIN:  Rhapsody on being giant-proof

  • F. SCHUBERT:  Symphony No. 8 “Unfinished”
